Tile To Play is a contest launched by Caesar in 2008, aimed at young architects, designers, film makers and visual artists. Right from the title, ‘Tile To Play’, the invitation to play, to challenge, to fusion, to artistic contamination is clear: architecture and graphics are the worlds of reference, images and texts the media to creatively interpret the very concept of porcelain tile, not only as a furnishing accessory but as the subject of a new life style. The participants had the task of proposing a decorative motif for tiles, through the use of avant-garde expressive languages such as digital animation, video making and photography. The Tile To Play awarding ceremony took place in Bologna, as part of Caesar's 20th anniversary celebrations.
