Caesar Design Film Award 2025: Design Exploration, Cinema Unveiling the World of Design

Fiorano Modenese, March 2025 – The Caesar Design Film Award returns, the competition promoted by Caesar as part of the Ennesimo Film Festival, the international short film festival that brings original visions and cinematic experimentation from around the world to the big screen.

Now in its sixth edition, the Caesar Design Film Award was created to explore the connections between design and cinema—two languages that narrate innovation, creativity, and the transformation of space. Through the cinematic medium, the competition offers a fresh perspective on design and materials, fostering a dialogue between filmmakers, designers, architects, and students.

The awards ceremony for the finalist short films will take place on April 30, 2025. In the afternoon, Caesar’s headquarters will host discussions dedicated to the intersection of cinema and design, while in the evening, at the Teatro Astoria in Fiorano Modenese, the finalist shorts will be screened, and the winners of this edition will be announced.

The Theme: Design Exploration

The theme of the 2025 edition, Design Exploration, invites participants to look beyond, to experiment, and to redefine the boundaries of design. Exploring materials, forms, and spatiality means opening up to new creative possibilities. Competing filmmakers will interpret this concept, bringing original and innovative visions of design to the screen.

The Awards

Three awards will be presented:

• Official Jury Award – Assigned by a panel of five members, including academics from the fields of design and cinema as well as representatives from Caesar. The evening’s main prize will go to the short film that best expresses the year’s theme with originality and visual impact.
• Wannabe Designer Special Mention – University students involved in the event will present this award to the short film that best portrays design with an innovative and inspiring approach.
• Audience Award – The audience in attendance will have the chance to vote for the most engaging short film, determining the winner of this special mention.

The evening event is free and open to all cinema and design enthusiasts
