The exception is the rule: this is the result of a remarkable evolution in the field of solutions for outdoor spaces. The latter are increasingly devoted the same level of sophistication and the same mix of practicality and beauty traditionally reserved for indoor spaces.

London and Lyons, two cities of great importance for architecture and design, both host major trade fairs that expose numerous visitors and exhibitors to new creative and design opportunities: the first is FutureScape, the leading fair in its sector in the United Kingdom, staged on 19th November in the greeny Esher (Greater London Area); the second is Paysalia, the biennial exhibition running at Eurexpo - Centre de Conventions et d’Expositions di Lione from 3rd to 5th December.

Caesar has made its own contribution to the world of landscaping with porcelain stoneware solutions that meet all demands for versatility, relating to both aesthetics and technical performance.

But what does the term "versatility" actually mean for outdoor spaces?

First and foremost it means flexibility: the attention devoted to the design of outdoor spaces must be the same regardless of whether that space is a garden, a balcony or an actual public area. The desire for harmony and wellbeing, which extends to time spent outdoors, is what drives study and research in terms of materials, furnishings, looks and style.

In the mad rush imposed upon us by modern-day life, the ability to recreate comfortable situations in outdoor spaces too is key selling point of landscaping. The diktat – therefore – combines minimalism and customisation in every space. The elegance of furnishing solutions in soft, neutral colours, with materials that repropose or evoke nature: these are just some of the principles that allow designers and architects to make projects truly original, adding details to underline their character.

Whether we are creating convivial situations or spaces for relaxation and meditation, what matters is quality. And it is precisely in those above-mentioned details that we find the essence of choices and solutions that don't “scream”, but speak wisely of evolution and innovation.

Technology goes hand in hand with design, giving rise to avant-garde solutions that are well-equipped to deal with the rigours of the outdoors: atmospheric agents, heavy pedestrian traffic, installation. The durability of the materials is often combined with lightness and workability, but above all it guarantees a very appealing aesthetic, which facilitates the development of furnishings that flow seamlessly between indoors and outdoors.

In this context, originally described as “versatile”, Caesar plays a leading role in important trends in surfaces and technical systems.

Starting from a “love of ceramics” characterised by a radical vision and corporate mission, Caesar and its CaesarTech division have developed porcelain stoneware solutions that meet the diverse requirements of outdoor installation – with adhesive, gravel, sand, grass, raised – and of environments in direct contact with water and with associated problems of grip, hygiene and durability. Aextra20 and Aquae Wellness Project are the two systems that combine the performance characteristics of porcelain stoneware with the technical features of the respective uses. They do so with a range of colours, material inspirations, thicknesses, sizes and finishes that has been greatly expanded over the years, guaranteeing levels of technological, functional and aesthetic excellence.
