Caesar Design Film Award 2025: Design Exploration — Cinema Explores the World of Design
The Caesar Design Film Award returns for its sixth edition, the competition promoted by Caesar within the Ennesimo Film Festival—an international short film festival that brings original visions and cinematic experimentation from around the world to the big screen.
Established to explore the connections between design and cinema, the Caesar Design Film Award highlights the interplay between two creative languages that express innovation, creativity, and the transformation of space. Through the cinematic lens, the competition offers a fresh perspective on design and materials, fostering dialogue between filmmakers, designers, architects, and students.
The awards ceremony for the finalist short films will take place on April 30, 2025. In the afternoon, Caesar’s headquarters will host a series of talks focusing on the relationship between cinema and design. In the evening, the finalist films will be screened at the Teatro Astoria in Fiorano Modenese, where the winners of this edition will be announced.
The theme of the 2025 edition, "Design Exploration," invites participants to look beyond, to experiment, and to redefine the boundaries of design. Exploring materials, forms, and spatiality means opening up to new creative possibilities. Competing filmmakers will interpret this concept, bringing original and innovative visions of design to the screen
In addition to the official winner of the Caesar Design Film Award, the short films will also compete for the Wannabe Designers Special Mention.
This special mention will be awarded by a jury composed of university students from Faculties and Schools of Architecture, Design, Graphic Design, and Art.
